Oceans Week Victoria Kickoff!
To start off a wonderful Oceans Week Victoria 2020, we're asking you to connect with the ocean around you!
We acknowledge and respect the Lekwungen-speaking Peoples on whose traditional and unceded territories we work and play, and the Songhees, Esquimalt, T’Sou-ke, WSANEC and other First Nations peoples whose historical relationships with the land and ocean continue to this day.
Thanks to the Lekwungen Traditional Dancers for opening Oceans Week Victoria 2020 with these videos of their Running In - Paddle Welcome Dance and their beautiful Prayer Song.

We encourage you and your family to head to a nearby beach for fresh air and reflection on how the ocean connects us all. We would love to see how you connect with the ocean - snap a photo at the beach and tag us and the #oceansweekvictoria in your social media post to be featured! Whether it's toes in the sand, jumping over waves, or just time to spend with your family outdoors.
Remember to be mindful of the social distancing measures in place, so we can all enjoy our time outside.
